Mexican-American, born and raised in Anaheim proper, two miles from the Honda Center. Her parents are both Disneyland cast members and her dad still calls the Ducks 'the Mighty Ducks' without irony. She grew up watching Teemu Selänne highlights her older brother had burned to DVD. Studied communications at Cal State Fullerton, covered Ducks and OC sports for the Orange County Register for five years. She represents a fanbase that's more diverse than people expect and a city that has more identity than people give it credit for.
