Your Celtics coach is getting roasted, and you know who's doin' it
Look — I'm just sayin', the internet is a wild place. You got guys like Bill Simmons, a Hahvahd Square guy who made it big in LA, still comin' back to rip the Celtics. And then you got Stephen A. Smith, who, let's be honest, probably couldn't find the T-station for the Braintree split if you gave him a map and a compass. But both of 'em are layin' into Joe Mazzulla and Jaylen Brown, and it's gettin' wicked loud out there.
Here's the thing: after that first-round loss to the Sixers, the takes are comin' in hotter than a summer day on Revere Beach. Simmons is out there sayin' Mazzulla "screwed this series up," which, I mean, you watched the games, right? It wasn't exactly a masterclass. And then you got Stephen A. takin' Jaylen Brown to task for talkin' about flopping on Twitch. Twitch! Like, what in the name of Larry Bird is goin' on?
* **The Simmons Jab:** He's basically saying the Celtics blew it as much as Philly won it. Which, you know, stings, 'cause we hate losin' like that.
* **The Stephen A. Smackdown:** He ain't buyin' Jaylen's excuses, sayin' the C's lost 'cause they lived and died with the three and played "dumb basketball." Hard to argue with that when you saw some of those possessions.
* **The Mazzulla Question Mark:** Is this guy the real deal, or just gettin' by on talent? That's the question everyone's askin' after that collapse.
It’s an awful look, I’m just sayin’. These guys, whether they're from Brighton or some other godforsaken place, they're watchin' us, and they're makin' us sound like a bunch of chumps. It's one thing when you're talkin' about the Bruins needin' a forward, but when it's the Celtics, and it's our coach and our players, it just hits different. You can't walk into a Dunkin' in Dorchester without hearin' someone ventin' about it.
Wicked early, wicked real — that's how we do it from Dot to the Harbor.
You gotta hear my buddy Sully go off on this tomorrow mornin' — check it out live at mornings.live.
