Your City Hall was all about the sky this week
Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.
Look, this past week, the main conversation down at City Hall wasn't about budgets or bylaws, but about blizzards and the wild weather moving across this land. We had Environment Canada warnings come through for what they called a "significant weather event." The wind howled through our river valley, the Oldman River — or *Mokó’sis* as my people call it, meaning 'little river' — was whipped into a frenzy by the gusts.
It seems everyone, from the Mayor's office to the folks plowing the roads, spent their time looking up, watching the clouds, making sure we were ready for whatever the sky decided to throw our way.

This isn't new for us, of course. We know the power of the prairie winter. But it does mean that much of City Hall's usual work took a backseat to making sure Lethbridge was safe and sound through the blow.
