Look, navigating the housing market can feel like trying to cross the Oldman River during spring runoff — a lot of unknowns. But the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is looking to make it a little less treacherous, according to their recent podcast releases. Their "REAL TIME" podcast is talking about making the real estate journey more accessible for folks, especially those facing mobility, visual, or auditory barriers. Jeffrey Kerr talked about this on Episode 72. It’s a good reminder that not everyone has the same easy path to finding a home here in Lethbridge, and it’s something our local realtors and developers should keep in mind as new neighbourhoods, like those out past the University on the west side, keep expanding.
They’re also talking about how social media and a realtor’s online presence impacts their work. Katie Hession spoke about this on Episode 71. Given how much we rely on online connections now, it makes sense that what our realtors are putting out there matters. It’s about building trust, even before you step foot in a listing in Indian Battle Park or out near the Chinook Centre.
We’ll have to see if these broader conversations from CREA start influencing how local agencies here in Lethbridge approach their clients and their online presence. It’s all about making sure everyone gets a fair shot at finding a home under our big sky.
