Your City Hall was quieter than the wind this week
Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.
Look, this past week, City Hall was quieter than a prairie dog burrow in January. No new civic data came across our desks, and it felt like the main topic of conversation in town, and frankly, in our reports, was the weather.
The wind wasn't just up; it was a constant companion, and the sky, while wide, kept threatening to spill. We've seen a string of weather warnings from Environment Canada, making sure everyone knew their umbrellas wouldn't be much help against what Mother Nature had planned for our corner of southern Alberta, our *Niitsitapi* lands.
It seemed like every morning we were reminding you to brace for whatever the sky decided to throw our way. While the *Ahsahta* (Old Man River) kept flowing, City Hall news was as steady as a tumbleweed. Sometimes, the biggest story is simply the lack of one.
