Your City Hall felt like a weather report this week
Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.
Look, this past week, you could practically hear the wind rattling the windows down at City Hall. Not much in the way of big news from council chambers or department updates. It was a quiet week for civic affairs, even by our standards.
It seemed like everyone, including the city, was mostly focused on the sky.
* Monday brought warnings of a rough forecast, and those kept coming. * Tuesday, your commute was definitely a wet one. * Wednesday, the rain was coming down so hard, an umbrella was just a suggestion. * The weather dominated everything, keeping City Hall news to a whisper.
But by Thursday, the worst of it started to pass, and Friday brought a much-needed break from the constant watch. The *Niitsítapi* say *napiikoan* – the white man – worries too much about things he can’t control. This week, we all felt like *napiikoan*, waiting for the weather to move on.
So what does this mean for you, here in Lethbridge? It means a bit of a breather. City Hall will likely pick up the pace next week, now that everyone can see the sun again.
