Here's what the Wild did to Dallas last night
Uff da, what a win for the Minnesota Wild last night down in Dallas! You know, that city. The boys really showed up, beating the Dallas Stars 4-2. It was a good, solid road win, the kind that makes you feel a little less stressed on a Monday morning. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy were just electric out there, getting on the scoreboard and setting up plays. And Mats Zuccarello, bless his heart, got us started early in the first period, which always feels good, doesn't it?
The Stars tried to hang tough, even getting a power-play goal from Miro Heiskanen, but the Wild just kept pushing. Matt Boldy's power-play goal late in the second period really shifted the momentum, and then Marcus McCarron got a real grinder of a goal in the third that felt like it sealed the deal. Dallas tried to make it interesting with a late goal from Jason Robertson, but Kaprizov just put the icing on the cake with an empty-netter. It was a good showing, a real "Minnesota hockey" kind of win, where everyone contributes and fights for it.
This win is huge, you betcha. It brings the Minnesota Wild to 104 points for the season, solidifying their spot in the Central Division at third. Going 6-4-0 in their last ten shows they're finding their stride at the right time. A win like this, against a divisional opponent, just boosts the confidence for the young players and sets a good example for all the youth hockey kids watching back home from Blaine to Bloomington. It’s a good morning in Minneapolis, folks. The sun's shining, the coffee's brewing, and the Wild are looking strong.
You betcha — Let's Play Hockey. This is Ingie Olsen-Carlson.
