Wild beat the Stars, and that's just good hockey!
Uff da, what a night at the X! The Minnesota Wild came out swinging against the Dallas Stars, taking a solid 5-2 win. If you went to bed early after that second period, you missed quite the comeback, you betcha. Quinn Hughes got us on the board first in the opening period, making us all feel good. Then the Stars tried to rain on our parade, getting two goals in the second, including one on the power play from Wyatt Johnston. For a minute there, I was thinking, "Oh, for heaven's sake, not again!" But then our boys just said, "Nope, not tonight, Dallas!"
That second period was a real nail-biter, wasn't it? After Dallas took the lead, Vladimir Tarasenko tied it right up for us, with an assist from Quinn Hughes again, which felt like a real momentum shift. But the third period, oh my goodness, that was all Minnesota Wild. Quinn Hughes notched his second goal of the night, from Brock Faber and Mats Zuccarello, which was just beautiful to watch. Then Matt Boldy decided he wasn't going to be left out of the party, scoring not one, but *two* goals in the final two minutes! That's the kind of finish that makes you wanna run down Nicollet Mall shouting, "SKOL!"
This win puts the Minnesota Wild at 46-24-12 with 104 points, keeping us strong in third in the Central. It really shows what this team can do when they put their minds to it. Going forward, these kinds of wins are vital for seeding, and more importantly, for showing all the kids in youth hockey around this state that grit and sticking with it pays off. You betcha, we needed that one.
