According to the City of Ottawa's issued permits data, a substantial commercial alteration permit for $84,619 just went through for a Tim Hortons at 780 Bancroft Drive in Ward 11. Yes, a Tim Hortons. Specifically, it's for "INTERIOR ALTERATIONS RECLADDING TO DRIVE-THRU WINDOW." So, for those of you in Orléans, expect your double-double experience to be… slightly more aesthetically pleasing soon, perhaps? I'm not saying it's groundbreaking, but it shows where some of the city's investment is actually going.
On the residential side, a new two-storey detached dwelling, complete with a finished basement and walkout, was permitted for $2,066,986 at 865 Aviation Road in Ward 1. That's a significant investment in new housing right near the Rockcliffe Parkway. Also, an industrial alteration for a new fire alarm system — landlord work, it says — for $1,556,164 at 5900 Keaton Crescent in Ward 5. Safety first, even in industrial zones, non?
