Your Bancroft Tim Hortons drive-thru is getting a facelift!

Your New Tim Hortons Drive-Thru is Getting a Makeover!

*Bonjour mes amis*, let's talk about what's actually happening on the ground, away from the endless committee meetings. The real story is never on the Hill — it's always just off it. Right now, a little bit of everyone's morning routine is getting an upgrade.

A building permit, specifically #BP 3ALT 26-430, has been issued for interior alterations and recladding to the drive-thru window at the Tim Hortons located at 780 Bancroft Drive in Ward 11. This project, valued at $84,619, means your daily double-double run might look a little different soon. It's a commercial permit, according to the City of Ottawa's issued building permits data. Think about it: that drive-thru probably sees more traffic than the Queensway on a Monday morning.

And it's not just coffee. The city is greenlighting some serious residential development, too. Permit #BP 9NEW 24-5505 was issued for a new two-storey detached dwelling with a finished basement and basement walkout at 865 Aviation Road, also in Ward 1. That's a big one, coming in at $2,066,986.

What does this mean for you? Well, the Bancroft Tim Hortons will get a fresh face, and Aviation Road is seeing some substantial new housing. Keep an eye on those construction zones.
