Your Penguins got shut out by them Flyers
Yinz woke up this morning feelin' like you got hit by a bus, and for good reason. The Pittsburgh Penguins laid an egg last night at home, losing 3-0 to the Philadelphia Flyers. It was a tough one to watch, especially against *them*. We couldn't get anything going, managed only 23 shots, and let's just say the Igloo felt a lot colder than usual. It's the kind of loss that sticks with you, like that one piece of coleslaw that always falls out of your Primanti's sandwich.
The Flyers broke through in the second period, with Patrick Martone getting one past our guy, then Garnet Hathaway scored a short-handed goal late in the same period. That shorty really twisted the knife, yinz know? We tried to push in the third, but then L. Glendening sealed it for Philadelphia with an empty-netter. Credit where it's due, the Flyers played a tight game, but we just didn't have that Pittsburgh grit we're known for. It wasn't our night.
This loss stings, especially since we're sitting at 41-25-16, 98 points, still second in the Metro. But our last ten games are 5-5-0, and losing to *them* like that at home doesn't help the confidence. We gotta shake this off quick, because the playoff picture is tight. We can't afford to let these divisional rivals push us around, especially not the Flyers.
