This OT loss to the Flyers hurts bad
Yinz, I’m still steamin’ this morning after watching the Pittsburgh Penguins drop a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia Flyers in overtime, 1-0. We dominated ‘em on shots, 42-32, but it didn't matter. Cam York, a defenseman, got the winner for Philly at 17:32 of overtime. It felt like we were playing forever out there, and to lose it like that, to *them*, in their building? Hard to swallow. You could feel the air go out of the Igloo all the way from Mount Washington when that puck went in.
### What Went Wrong
We just couldn’t find the back of the net, plain and simple. Tristan Jarry played a heck of a game, kept us in it through regulation and almost all of overtime. He was sharp. But their goalie, Carter Hart, stood on his head. Sidney Crosby had some unbelievable chances, threads the needle like nobody else can, but Hart just shut the door. Evgeni Malkin was trying to make things happen, battling hard, but the bounces weren’t there. It was one of those nights where the puck just didn't want to go in for the Pittsburgh Penguins, no matter how much we buzzed around.
This loss means we're sitting at 41-25-16 with 98 points, still second in the Metro. Our last ten games are 5-5-0, so we gotta tighten things up. Every point matters right now, especially against a rival like the Flyers. This one stings, like when you bite into a Primanti's and forget how hot the pastrami is. We need to shake this off quick because the schedule doesn't get any easier. We gotta earn our way through this.
