It seems Victoria City Hall is gearing up for a very specific kind of summer, doesn't it? Well, here’s the thing: among the recent business licenses issued, two caught my eye immediately – both for HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD, operating as a bicycle vendor. Two licenses for the same mobile business, #40784 and #40447. What does that tell us? Perhaps an expansion, or simply ensuring full coverage for our ever-growing desire for frozen treats on two wheels.
Meanwhile, over on Johnson Street, something else rather delightful is taking shape. ARCADIA, an entertainment amusement centre, just received license #48095 for 707 Johnson Street. An amusement centre, you ask? Right in the heart of downtown, not far from the vintage treasures on Fort Street. It’s a bit of a shift, isn't it? From the quiet hum of antique shops to the likely buzz of an arcade. This signals a subtle but definite change in the downtown landscape, perhaps catering to a younger crowd or simply offering more diverse entertainment options beyond our excellent local pubs.
