Your City Hall is Bringing Back Arcade Games
Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine.
Well, here's the thing. While you were perhaps enjoying a leisurely stroll through Beacon Hill Park, or maybe waiting patiently for a float plane to land in the Inner Harbour, City Hall was quietly approving some interesting new ventures.
The most intriguing recent business license? Arcadia, an amusement centre, setting up shop at 707 Johnson Street. An arcade, then. A place where one can perhaps test their skills on a classic pinball machine or maybe even a newfangled virtual reality contraption. Is this a sign of a renewed interest in public, in-person entertainment? One does wonder. This license, #48095, suggests a new kind of social space might be blooming right in the heart of downtown, not far from the antiques on Fort Street.

Keep an eye out for them. * A new Downtown Veterinary Clinic is now official at 736 Caledonia Ave, license #22734. * Island Key Computer Ltd. also received a license for computer services at 495 Superior Street.
It's a small detail, of course, but sometimes the smallest details tell you the most about the shifting tides of city life. What kind of energy will Arcadia bring to Johnson Street? We shall see.
