What’s up with all this ice cream and arcade buzz?
Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine. We had a lovely sunrise this morning, pinks and purples over the Olympic Mountains, just before the float planes started their gentle hum.
Well, here's the thing. City Hall has been busy, issuing a flurry of new business licenses, and something rather sweet caught my eye. Or, perhaps, rather *cold*.
* **Hazels Ice Cream Ltd.** secured not one, but *two* bicycle vendor licenses for mobile operations here in Victoria. One is Licence #40784, the other is #40447. This suggests a significant expansion for their mobile presence. * **Arcadia**, an entertainment amusement centre, also received Licence #48095 for their location at 707 Johnson Street.
What does this tell us? It seems our city's leisure economy is… well, let's say it's thriving. We're seeing more opportunities for residents and visitors alike to enjoy a treat while strolling through James Bay, or perhaps challenge a friend at an arcade down on Johnson Street. It speaks to a certain confidence in the local market, doesn't it? As if people are saying, "Yes, we'd like more fun, please, and perhaps a double scoop."
Keep an eye out for these new ice cream bikes, perhaps on the Galloping Goose Trail, and see if they become a new fixture in our laid-back island life.
