Two North End fires keep WFPS busy

The North End woke up to a busy morning for our Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, hey, with two separate structure fires reported in the St. John's and William Whyte neighbourhoods.
### Early Morning Blazes
WFPS dispatch records show the first call came in at 4:23 AM today, April 8, 2026, for a structure fire in William Whyte. That incident, number 2026051529, in Ward Mynarski, was resolved by 4:54 AM, according to civic intelligence monitors. Units D24, E103, E6, L1, and R6 were on scene.
Just over an hour later, at 5:39 AM, another structure fire was reported in the St. John's neighbourhood, also in Ward Mynarski. This incident, number 2026051541, is still active. A significant response is underway with units 12, 14, 45, D24, D74, E101, E102, E16, E6, GATOR91, GATOR92, L16, R6, and S5. It's always a tough day when our firefighters are out there risking it all for our neighbours, especially so early in the morning.
