North Point Douglas has another active fire
Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.
We've got an active situation to tell you about this morning, hey. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is on scene at a structure fire in North Point Douglas, a neighborhood that's been seeing more than its share of calls lately. WFPS dispatch records, updated at 12:04:56 UTC, show this incident, 2026082678, started at 6:30:31 AM this morning. Units 27, D3, E101, E103, E104, E2, E6, GATOR92, L2, R6, and S5 are all on scene in Mynarski Ward, still actively working to resolve it.
This isn't the only call for North Point Douglas today. Just a few minutes before this active fire, WFPS resolved another structure fire in the same neighbourhood, incident 2026082679, which started at 6:33:08 AM and was resolved by 6:38:50 AM. That's two structure fires in one morning, close together, which is something we'll be keeping a close eye on.
* Two structure fires reported in North Point Douglas this morning. * One fire (Incident 2026082678) is still active as of 12:04 PM. * Multiple WFPS units are deployed to Mynarski Ward.
This pattern in North Point Douglas is concerning, and it hits hard when you think about the history and heart of that area, right by the Red River. We'll be watching for updates from WFPS on the cause of these fires and what it means for folks living in the neighbourhood.
