Your Westwood Fire This Morning
Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.
We're starting this morning's record with some breaking news out of Westwood, hey. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is actively responding to a structure fire that was reported this morning, June 15, 2026, at 9:01:35 AM. This incident, identified as 2026092823, is in the Charleswood - Tuxedo - Westwood ward. WFPS has multiple units on scene, including Engine 101, Ladder 11, and Rescue 4, according to our real-time civic intelligence monitors.
### More Than Just Smoke
It's been a busy morning for our emergency services. Beyond the active fire, there were two separate hazmat responses in the St. John's neighbourhood, both on June 15, 2026. The first was at 7:57:03 AM (incident 2026092786) and the second at 9:05:25 AM (incident 2026092825), both within the Mynarski ward and handled by Engine 6.
* Our monitors also show four motor vehicle collisions across Weston, St. James Industrial, and St. John's between 8:03 AM and 8:29 AM this morning. * The top complaint to 311 today, with eight calls in the last 24 hours, is simply listed as "Submission," out of 26 total 311 calls. * On a slightly different note, the city has posted eight new liquor license applications this week, including one for Pho No. 1 and The Pizza Plate. Always good to see new spots popping up, hey.
We'll be keeping an eye on the Westwood fire and any further updates from WFPS. Stay safe out there, Winnipeg.
