Your Dufferin Industrial Fire is still active hey
Good morning, Winnipeg. Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful.
The big news this morning is out of Dufferin Industrial, where the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is still actively responding to a structure fire. WFPS dispatch records, last updated at 12:26 PM today, June 13, 2026, show two separate incidents reported at 4:25 AM and 4:29 AM in the Dufferin Industrial neighbourhood, in Mynarski ward. While one incident, 2026091701, was resolved quickly at 4:31 AM, the second, incident 2026091699, is still listed as "ACTIVE" with multiple units on scene, including Engine 17, Ladder 1, and Rescue 5.
### What Else We're Watching
Beyond the active fire situation, here's a quick look at what else is happening:
* **Water Issues**: The city has fielded 8 water-related complaints in the last 24 hours, with the Daniel McIntyre ward seeing one of the highest numbers of calls. * **Business Buzz**: West Broadway has seen 4 business closures in the past month, part of 50 total closures across the city. On the flip side, there are 8 new liquor license applications, including one for Pho No. 1 and another for AiNails & Spa. * **Mayor's Moves**: Mayor Scott Gillingham has been busy, yesterday announcing a Defence Construction Panel for Winnipeg Industry and welcoming a second major industrial park proposal in CentrePort South.
We'll be keeping a close eye on that Dufferin Industrial fire throughout the day, hey. Stay safe out there.
