Your Ducks just couldn't catch a break against the Oilers
Ugh, okay, so I’m like, *still* processing that game last night against the Edmonton Oilers. It was a tough one on the road, ending in a 4-1 loss for our Anaheim Ducks. The first period was just… rough. Valentin Podkolzin, Zach Hyman, and Leon Draisaitl all scored for Edmonton within the first ten minutes, and it felt like we were just playing catch-up from there. The guys outshot the Oilers 30-20, which is great effort, but it just wasn't enough to overcome that early deficit.
Adam Killorn gave us a little hope in the second period with a power-play goal, assisted by Mason McTavish and Cutter Gauthier. It was a beautiful play, honestly, and it felt like maybe, just maybe, we could turn it around. But then Leon Draisaitl got another one on the power play for Edmonton a couple of minutes later, and it just sealed it. It's frustrating because the Anaheim Ducks have been on a bit of a rollercoaster lately, and seeing that W streak snap like that, especially after all the effort, is a bummer.
So, where does this leave us? The Anaheim Ducks are still sitting pretty at 3rd in the Pacific with 92 points, but our recent record of 2-6-2 in the last ten is, like, a little concerning. We need to find that consistent energy again. The mood in Anaheim this morning feels a bit like when you get to Disneyland super early for rope drop, only to find out your favorite ride is closed for maintenance – a little deflated but still hopeful for the rest of the day. We need to bounce back, especially with the playoff picture getting tighter.
Let's Go Duuuucks — from Anaheim, this is Sof.
