You gotta see what da Blackhawks pulled off last night
Lookit, if you fell asleep after da first period, I don't blame ya, but you missed a real one out on Long Island. Da Chicago Blackhawks took down da New York Islanders 4-3, and lemme tell ya, it was a nail-biter. Anders Lee got one quick for da Islanders, like, 49 seconds in, and I was already gettin' that pit in my stomach, ya know? But then our guys went to work. Nick Lardis, Frank Nazar, and Tyler Bertuzzi all got on da board in da first, and then Nazar again in da second. Four goals in less than 20 minutes of play, and we were up big.
But then, because this is da Blackhawks and we gotta keep things interesting, da Islanders started clawin' their way back. Shoutout to Nick Lardis for a couple two tree points last night – a goal and two assists, that kid is lookin' good. Tyler Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist too, really earning his keep. But then Scott Mayfield and Casey Cizikas scored for da Islanders in da third, makin' it a one-goal game with still a couple minutes left. I was practically spittin' out my Italian beef, I was so nervous. Our defense held on, though, and we got da W.
What does this mean for da Chicago Blackhawks goin' forward? Well, we're still sittin' 8th in da Central, but hey, we're on a winnin' streak, and we're only a point out of that 9th wildcard spot, even if da playoffs are a long shot. Every win counts, especially when you're tryin' to build somethin'. It's good for da confidence, good for da young guys, and it keeps da fans here in Chicago hopin'. Next up, da Hawks are on da road again against da Flyers. It's somethin' to talk about over coffee and a donut at da corner bakery this mornin', I'm just sayin'.
