You need to hear about the Boston Bruins last night
So you wake up this mornin' hopin' for somethin' good, right? Forget about it, kid. The Boston Bruins dropped one at home to the Buffalo Sabres, 4-1. It was ugly. First period, they let Alex Tuch and Mattias Samuelsson pot two. Just like that, down by a pair before you could even finish your first cup of coffee. Boston just looked flat, didn't have that snap you need, especially at the Gahden.
David Pastrnak gave us a little somethin' somethin' early in the second, a power play goal from Pavel Zacha and Hampus Lindholm. Got your hopes up, thought maybe they'd turn it around. Then the third period hit, and Buffalo just sealed it. Zach Benson got one, then Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin set up Jordan Norris for the clincher. Shot count was even, 26-26, which tells ya somethin' about both goalies last night. It wasn't the Bruins' night. It was one of those games where you leave the Gahden thinkin', "What the hell was that?"
This loss ain't gonna sink 'em, but it's a gut check. They're still sittin' at 45-27-10, 100 points, first wildcard. But with the playoffs comin', you gotta tighten things up. You can't be coughin' up games like this, especially not at home. The vibe in the city this mornin' is just… quiet. Like the calm before a nor'easter. No panic, but definitely some head-shakin' down by the Seaport.
